The five pillars of Islam

Islam has five basic duties, often called  "The five pillars of Islam". Those are:
1. The Shahada.
2. The Salat.
3. The Ramadan.
4. Zakat.
5. Hajj.
(1) Shahada (Iman)
The announcement of guiltiness, Arabic-" La ilaha illa llah", English-There is no God other than Allah.  The Shahada or Believe to Allah, Kalima present is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah.
Shahada is a saying professing monotheism and accommodating  Mohammed (Sallallaho-Alaihe-wa-Sallam) as God's  messenger. The shahada is a set declaration generally recited in Arabic: “(Ash-hadu al Laa Illaha -Illal- La- Ho- wahdahoo Laa-Sharika Lahoo Wa Ash-hadu Anna Muhammadan Abduhoo wa Rasuluhoo) "(I profess that) there is no god except Allah and (I profess that) Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." as well, it is said that when dying one should recite this declaration of faith. In Azaan (call to prayer) it is recited. When a person needs to revert religions they should narrate this affirmation and believe in it. Shahada is the main pillar in the five pillars of Islam.
(2) Salat or namaz
Salat or namaz is the Islamic prayer. Salat or namaz consists of five daily prayers:  Each prayer consists of a certain amount of  rakkat. A prayer either consists of two, three, or four rakaat. All of these prayers are recited while facing the kaaba in Mecca. Muslims be required to wash themselves before prayer, this washing is called wudu. The prayer is accompanied by a cycle of set positions including; bowing with hands on knees, standing, prostrate self and sitting in a special position (not on the heels, nor on the buttocks, with the toes pointing away from Mecca), usually with one foot tucked under the body. Salat is an important the five pillars of Islam.

Three types of fasting Ramadan or Sawn are recognized by the Quran : Ritual fasting, fasting as compensation for contrition in cooperation (from Al Quran- sura-al- Baqura), and ascetic fasting (from Al Quran- sura al-Ahzab). Ritual fasting is an compulsory act during the month of Ramadan Muslims must abstain from food, drink, and sexual communication from dawn to dusk for the period of this month, and are to be especially mindful of other sins.

It is considered to be a individual responsibility for Muslims to ease economic hardship for others and eliminate inequality. Zakat consists of payments 2.5% of one's wealth for the benefit of the poor or needy, including slaves, debtors and travelers.

  2. Assalam-O-Alaikum
Allah has made it obligatory for all the Muslims to perform Hajj at-least once in their lifetime. As mentioned by Allah in the holy Quran “And pilgrimage to the House is a duty unto Allah for mankind, for him who can find a way thither” (Aal Imran 3:97).
